Jordan Clarkson Agrees to Four-Year Deal with Los Angeles Lakers
Clarkson Leaving Utah Jazz After One Season
Deal Worth $50 Million
LOS ANGELES (AP) - Jordan Clarkson has agreed to a four-year, $50 million deal to return to the Los Angeles Lakers, his agent, Rich Paul, told The Associated Press on Saturday.
Clarkson, a 6-foot-5 guard, averaged 16.7 points, 3.9 rebounds and 4.1 assists in 82 games (68 starts) for the Lakers last season. He shot 44.2% from the field, 36.1% from 3-point range and 82.2% from the free-throw line.
Clarkson was acquired by the Lakers in a trade with the Cleveland Cavaliers in February 2018. He played a key role in the Lakers' run to the NBA championship in 2020.
The Lakers are coming off a disappointing season in which they finished 33-49 and missed the playoffs. Clarkson is expected to be a key part of the Lakers' turnaround in 2023-24.
