Niemeyer named head of Bremen
Former player takes on new role
Niemeyer has a long history with the club
Former Werder Bremen player Peter Niemeyer has been appointed as the club's new head of football. Niemeyer, who played for Bremen from 2007 to 2015, takes over the role from Frank Baumann, who left the club at the end of the season. Niemeyer has a long history with Bremen, having also worked as an assistant coach at the club from 2015 to 2017. He has also managed SV Meppen and VfL Osnabrück.
Niemeyer's appointment is a popular one with Bremen fans, who remember him as a hard-working and passionate player. He is expected to bring a new level of energy and enthusiasm to the role, and will be tasked with helping Bremen rebuild after a disappointing season.
